The collection above is quite limited: internet search for pictograms or icons related to Ski Storage yields just a few results that meet some minimum requirements, and our sources also offer just a couple of variants.

Data from tests is sparse:

In the context of a project of the Austrian Standards Institute, the best scoring pictogram in a Appropriateness Ranking Test conducted by Gehringer in 1976 was basis for the development of several test designs. The two pictograms labeled 1) and 2) then were examined in a Comprehension Test (Brugger, 1983), where variant 1) proved to be well comprehensible with about 88 % correct responses. Data registered for pictogram 2) indicate that the ski pole shown in this variant led to a significant number of wrong responses.

Regarding test results available and considering aspects like legibility/visibility we recommend the use of a pictogram like Tern symbol TS0840 of the Tern symbol set or public information symbol No 100 of ÖNORM A 3011 part 4 to indicate the location of rooms or facilities where skiing equipment can be stored.
